Background:

Jake grew up in a working class Brooklyn  family and joined the military after high school, becoming a Navy SEAL.

He completed several tours of duty, gaining accolades for his service but also witnessing combat deaths that haunt him.

After 10 years of service, Jake left the military and found himself directionless. When his estranged uncle left Jake his failing bar in Salem, Jake saw it as a chance at a fresh start.

Personality:

Brash and cocky with a wicked sense of humor, Jake has a short temper and is quick to fight when provoked. He is distrustful of strangers but fiercely devoted to those he cares about.

Buried under his tough exterior is regret and trauma from his military days that he tries to numb with whiskey.

Goals:

Jake wants to renovate and revitalize his late uncle’s decrepit bar into the hottest watering hole in Salem. He hopes this project will give him direction and purpose after years of violence and chaos.

Part of Jake wants to settle down, but he keeps romantic relationships casual.

Flaws:

Jake can be arrogant, hot-headed, evasive about his war past, resistant to asking for help, and has an alcohol dependence he won’t admit to. His trauma makes intimacy difficult.
